Ms Kadhambari S. Viswanathan is the young Assistant Vice President of Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) Group, a leading University acknowledged by Government of India as “Institute of Eminence”, which has Campuses at Vellore, Chennai, Amaravati and Bhopal. She leads the University for imparting innovations in curriculum, teaching, management and societal support, ever since she has entered the Core Committee of VIT Group in 2013. Ms. Kadhambari is the Young Leader of the VIT Bhopal which she has established in 2017, and is growing rapidly to attain the top national and international rankings.
Ms. Kadhambari is basically a specialist in the area of biotechnology with B.Tech. degree from VIT in 2010, and had a bright and successful stint in her education and career. During studies at college, she had successful stints at Johns Hopkins University, USA and at Cancer Research institutes in Europe, the DKFZ, Heidelberg, Germany. These stays exposed her to cutting edge academic and R&D knowledge in the Bioengineering and Technology field. After graduation, she has joined the prestigious Bloomberg School of Public Health at Johns Hopkins University in 2011, for Masters in Health Sciences.
The VIT Bhopal was established by Ms. Kadhambari to enhance the reach of quality education to larger and comparatively weaker section of northern India. Towards this, she has introduced innovations in teaching methods, inducted 100% doctoral faculties, and introduced CALTech (Collaborative & Active Learning Through Technology), an active learning teaching pedagogy. In addition to GV Scholarship for meritorious students, to strengthen the education in the rural areas of Madhya Pradesh, Ms. Kadhambari has launched STARS (Support The Advancement of Rural Students) Scheme in which 10+2 students (1 Boy & 1 Girl) from each district is being given an opportunity to study with free of cost (Tuition Fee + Accommodation + Meals).
Based on the vast experience at VIT Vellore and Chennai, Ms. Kadhambari has smartly assimilated and adopted the three decades of technological excellence of VIT Group and envisioned the need for Future Ready Courses at VIT Bhopal in 2016 for the future of technological world. Thus she made efforts along with experts in the field and introduced programs like: Gaming Technology, Bioengineering, Health Informatics, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Computational Data science, Cyber Security and Digital Forensics, Cybernetics, Robotics, Cyber Security and Digital Forensics, for the benefit of Indian students.
It is to be proudly mentioned here that the new undergraduate program Gaming Technology introduced by her is the first ever in Indian educational institutions. All the above Future Ready programs have resulted in highly motivated and capable technocrats, with excellent
placement records, and who would lead the future technological up-gradation in the country.
Ms. Kadhambari is a prodigy with brilliant talents, and she made a place in “Limca Book of Records” for being the youngest biographer at the age of 12-years in 2003, for her biographical work “My Grandpa”; an 80-page life history of G. Viswanathan (Chancellor, Vellore Institute of Technology). Ms. Kadhambari has been duly recognized for her outstanding contributions to academic and societal activities with “Legacy Transcends Award” in 2016. Under her leadership, the VIT Bhopal was recognized as “Best Emerging University in North India” in 2018 by Career Connect Magazine in its National Education Award – 2018 at New Delhi for the initiative that she has made for successfully implementing the “CALTech” teaching pedagogy at VIT Bhopal. The Rotary Club of Chennai Galaxy in 2018 has recognized her as “Young Educationist” for her outstanding contributions to higher education in India.
During the pandemic situation in 2020, under her leadership VIT Bhopal started a National Level Initiative against the cyber theft and threats in name of “COVID-19 support” in association with Madhya Pradesh State Police Academy, Bhopal. Also, VIT Bhopal has organized a “National Level Hackathon” to call ideas on making Applications (Apps) to deal with COVID-19 and provide a national platform to techies. Under the leadership of Ms. Kadhambari VIT Bhopal has become the first private university of India to conduct “Virtual Reality Based e-Convocation” of its own kind due to the pandemic situation. This was the first convocation of VIT Bhopal University after its academic programs started in 2017. Considering her brilliant qualities and achievements at a young age, she has been featured in the Special issue on Women’s Day of India Today, a leading News Magazine of India, to acknowledge her contributions in improvement of higher education in India.
Ms. Kadhambari S. Viswanathan has made significant impact on the general administration, international relations, industry linkages, and human resources while performing her duty as Assistant Vice President of the VIT University since 2013. Her passion to introduce new
concepts in learning technologies at VIT University has shown significant results with increase in pass percentage of students and excellent placement records. She is a dedicated professional who is always willing to learn anything new that will benefit the academic community and society. Ms. Kadhambari always shows strong willingness to learn and look beyond her field and specialization thus demonstrating her ability to do multidisciplinary tasks at ease. Her intense intellectual imagination always results into many new practical ideas and projects for successful implementation. There is no doubt that Ms. Kadhambari is an independent young women leader who is able to select her plans and ideas, nurture and pursue it for successful implementation, with full dedication and enthusiasm, for the benefits of the Indian community.
