J. Innocent Divya, IAS has completed her Bachelor’s in Fisheries Science and the 2009 batch IAS officer of Tamil Nadu cadre. She is regarded as a special officer who has brought the ethos of ultimate work ethics in the administration. An officer with clean record, madam has done tremendous work in preserving the unique biodiversity of Nilgiri. She was made District Collector and District Magistrate of Nilgiri in July 2017 and she had remained on this post for more than four years to become a beacon of hope for the fragile and vibrant Nilgiri. She was transferred only on her request to do the same by the Supreme Court of India. In 2018, the Supreme Court of India had ordered that the State Government should not transfer Divya out of Nilgiri. This is the first time in the administrative history of Tamil Nadu when such a judgment has come from the Highest Court of the land. The Court wanted her to continue working in protecting the Elephant Corridor. Needless to say, she had justify the trust shown on her. Other than this, Ma’am has served as the Revenue Divisional Officer Tiruppur, Kallakurichi & Devakottai, TN. Asst. Commissioner (General Administration & Personnel) Corporation of Chennai, General Manager, Tamil Nadu Corporation for Development of Women, Chennai. S.S to C.M and Special Officer Chief Minister’s Special Cell, D.S to Govt Co-op Food and Consumer Co-op Department , now currently serving as the MD TNSDC.
